Description:
Become familiar with one of America's most treasured painters - Georgia O'Keefe and her unique style of painting gigantic flowers. We will learn about her life and work while creating our own flower painting inspired by her style. Campers will pick a flower of their choosing, zoom into it like a camera and paint a close up of blending colors and flowing shapes.

Acrylic Still-lifes and Impressionism: July 10-14 (Age 7 and UP)
Description:
Still life is one of the most common subjects for a painting and it surely does look great over the dining table! We will get familiar with masters of still life painters from different times. such as Paul Cezanne, Angus Wilson and Henri Matisse. In this camp we will learn to see true colors and proportions of the objects. We will start with a color study and try to depict how light hits the objects. We will sketch and find best composition. Then students will each get a large (16x20) canvas and create their final masterpiece!

At Sunflower we believe that all kids can learn difficult subjects at any age. That's why we have created this camp. We will introduce our budding artists to the few fun, colorful and easy ways of making perspective. Projects will include making your name with 3-D letters, learning about the perspective in a still life and a landscape and learning tricks about making objects look 3-D.

Do you ever wonder how artists can make three dimensional world that seems to go on forever on a flat piece of paper? How do they make buildings and boxes that look so real but are just lines on a page? In this camp we will explore the rich history of perspective and composition in painting and drawing. We will learn all the special tricks artist’s use to fool your eyes into believing there is a whole world contained on a flat paper, wall or canvas. Students will learn the basics of overlapping and use of scale along with one, two and three point perspective that so many of our students have been dying to learn.
